Carlos Vela continues setting MLS records with LAFC

LA Galaxy might have taken the spoils in El Tráfico, but LAFC captain, Carlos Vela's dream season - his second year in the MLS just keeps getting better and better.
In 20 games this season, Vela tops the goal scoring chart and on Friday night, despite his team's derby defeat, the Mexican striker added goals 20 and 21 to his personal account.
Carlitos netted his 20th goal of the campaign from the penalty spot on 4 minutes and in doing so, wrote his name in the MLS history books by becoming the fastest player to hit the 20-goal mark in a single season.
The next record in Vela's sights
With 14 games to go, Carlos Vela needs just two more goals to become the highest scoring Mexican player in history in the US league. Erick 'Cubo' Torres currently holds the record with 36 goals in five seasons.
