Marco Asensio sends message of thanks for all the support
The Real Madrid player took to social media to share his feelings after the outpouring of concern and goodwill shown to him after his injury.
Two days after suffering the knee injury that will keep him out of action for most, if not all, of the upcoming season, Real Madrid's Marco Asensio wanted to respond to all those who had sent him messages of support.
Asensio shares his thanks
The Madrid forward received a mountain of messages from fans and others, and this also included public support from many of his teammates, including Ramos, Marcelo, Vinicius and Brahim. There was also love sent his way from his former colleague, Cristiano Ronaldo.
'I began this season with renewed hopes, looking after even the last tiny detail of my preparation so that this would be a great season for all the Madrid fans and for myself,' he began, with his sentiments posted in both Spanish and English.
'At the highest points in life, you can have an unexpected stroke of bad luck and suddenly everything changes. It is hard to accept everything these days, but I begin another personal challenge in my life. I still trust that this will be a great season.
'Your messages of support and loving gestures give me even more strength to face this challenge.

Time will tell how long the 23-year old is out for, but he will be reminded that he still has many years ahead of him to share with the world his incredible talent.
