Zinedine Zidane has named his Real Madrid squad for Wednesday night's LaLiga clash at home to Osasuna (21:00 CEST). The Frenchman, who has Ferland Mendy, Marcelo and Luka Modric all out through injury, has picked a 19-man initial group, which he will have to reduce by one when he submits his final team sheet (presumably by cutting his pool of goalkeepers from three to two).

Bale rested for midweek LaLiga clash

The chief selection news is the omission of Gareth Bale, who is not thought to be suffering from any kind of injury issue and has, ostensibly, been rested for the week-six match. In his place, Zidane has opted to bring in Rodrygo Goes, who was not included in the weekend trip to Seville. Isco, who is yet to regain full fitness after recovering from a hamstring problem, is not ready to return.

Despite the injuries to Mendy and Marcelo leaving Real Madrid with no specialist left-backs, Zidane has finally decided against calling up any players from the club's 'B' team, Castilla. Versatile defender Nacho Fernández is expected to deputise in the position against Osasuna.

Out-of-favour striker Mariano Díaz has once more been excluded.

Real Madrid squad to face Osasuna:

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola and Altube.
Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Ramos, Varane, Nacho and Odriozola.
Midfielders: Kroos, Casemiro, Valverde and James.
Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Vázquez, Jović, Vinicius and Rodrygo.
