Expectations were high with the arrival of Christian Pulisic, mainly because he was supposed to take over the gap left in the side by Eden Hazard, but the US international is making headlines for his lack of playing time, and even moreso now after Chelsea's coach, Frank Lampard urged the fans to be patient with the 21-year-old winger.

Pulisic's start has been with the Blues has been inconsistent, failing to make it off the bench in three consecutive Premier League games only returning to the starting XI during the League Cup match. Lampard mentioned ahead of Saturday's match against Brighton he has four wingers to chose from, with Christian still young and going through an adaptation period.

"I have four wingers to chose from now they are all fit. Pulisic we forget is 21 because of the price-tag. It is normal to have an adaptation period. He has shown some good moments this season and in pre-season but he must do it daily. He needs time to adapt, but we support him on that. His time will come," he said.

However, Lampard's statement didn't sit well with Chelsea's fans who demand the manager start Pulisic as they believe he should join his fellow young teammates, Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, and Fikayo Tomori as a regular in the Blues' starting eleven.

Chelsea fans are hoping to see Christian Pulisic prove his value after the money spent on him; he has shown glimpses of his talent; he just needs more playing time, as believed by the fans.
