Barça: Leo Messi's debut 15 years ago
The Argentinean made his first appearance for the Azulgrana on 16 October, 2004, in a city derby against Espanyol at the age of 17.
On 16 October, 2004, a legend was born as Leo Messi took to the pitch for the the first time in a Barcelona shirt.
It was at the former Montjuic Stadium in Barcelona against city rivals Espanyol, with the game ending 1-0 to Barça courtesy of a Deco strike after nine minutes.
Messi has since gone on to smash Barça's all-time scoring record, previously held by César Sánchez with 232, banging in 604 goals in all competitions during his Camp Nou career.
Messi is also the club's second-highest appearance maker on 692, behind only Xavi who played 767 times for the club.
