Mallorca record famous win over Real Madrid
Mallorca vs Real Madrid: as it happened
Real Madrid suffered their first league defeat of the season as newly promoted Mallorca hung on to an early-goal lead to secure the three points at home.
Lago Junior found the game's only goal in the 7th minute, the Ivorian striker slotting the ball past Courtois into the bottom right corner from 12 yards out to claim his first goal of the season.
From then on, Madrid dominated possession and made their chances but did little to trouble Reina in goal, aside from a Benzema shot that hit crossbar in the 27th minute.
The loss leaves Zidane’s side one point behind Barcelona, who defeated Eibar earlier in the day.
Peep, peep, peep! Another newly promoted side has taken the scalp of one of the big two. It was Granada a few weeks ago against Barcelona. And now Mallorca have inflicted Real Madrid's first league defeat of the season.
James delivers the set-piece but no white shirt can get on the end of it. That's surely it!
Free kick for Real Madrid. Last chance!
Four minutes added on. Can Madrid find something here or will Mallorca hang on for a famous victory?
Another James set-piece free kick is aimed towards Ramos in the box. This time the captain falls to the ground and is claiming a penalty, but the ref is having none of it.

Another James set-piece delivery finds the head of Ramos yet again. But the captain doesn't connect well and the ball goes high and wide.
Ramos header goes over the bar. Madrid still searching for the equaliser.
Odriozola comes flying in with a challenge on Lago Junior. It's very late and the Spanish full back knows it. No complaints as the ref pulls out a second yellow and subsequent red card. Madrid have 15 minutes and only 10 men now to salvage something.
Madrid break quickly after clearing a Mallorca corner. Benzema rushes forward and spreads the ball wide to Rodrigo in acres of space. The Brazilian carries the ball into the box and tries to square a pass to his team mate but the ball doesn't make it past the Mallorca full back Agbenyenyu.
Two changes for Madrid: Rodrigo on for Isco; Jovic makes way for Valverde.
Ramos steps up to take a direct free kick from 30 yards out. But he's lifted it well over the bar. Wasted opportunity.
Kubo comes on for Mallorca. He replaces Febas.

Vinicius slots the ball to Benzema. The Frenchman strikes it cleanly but straight into the hands of the keeper.
Lots of pressure coming from Madrid around the Mallorca area. Vinicius tries to be a bit too clever with a back flick for Marcelo. But the ball only goes as far as the Mallorca defenders.

The teams are back out and ready to go.
Mallorca's Ivorian striker, Lago Junior, had not scored in 646 minutes of play before tonight. But it only took him seven minutes to net his first goal of the season against Madrid.
Peep, peep! Half-time with Madrid trailing a goal to nil. The visitors have had their chances, with Benzema coming closest with a shot off the cross bar. But aside from that, they haven't really troubled Reina in goal.
Lots of pulling and shoving going on. This time Ramos gives away a free kick and Mallorca have a chance to put one in the mixer. Bit Madrid eventually clear the danger from the set-piece delivery.

Marcelo twists, turns and shoots from just outside the area. But his shot towards the bottom right corner is saved by Reina.
James delivers a free kick into the area. His target is Ramos once again, but the captain is beaten to the ball by Mallorca keeper Reina.
Benzema hits the crossbar! James spots the run of the French striker and floats a stunning ball into the box from the middle of the park. Benzema sticks out a foot to hit it first time from six yards out. It's beaten Reina but strikes the crossbar. That would have been special.
Vinicius shoots from distance! But it drifts wide of the left post.
Odriozola is the first player to go in the book for a challenge on Lago Junior.
Vinicius pulls off a beautiful dummy to let the ball run ahead, leaving the Mallorca defender for dust down the left flank, but then gives an awful pass to nobody.
Huge defensive blunder from Madrid as Mallorca disposess Militao just outside the box. Budimir expertly sticks the ball into the back of the net. However the goal's been disallowed. What a let off for Madrid!
Completely against the run of play, Mallorca work the ball quickly to Lago Junior on the left. He runs at Odriozola, who keeps his distance, allowing the Mallorca striker the space and time to tee up a shot with his right foot and stick the ball into the bottom right corner from 12 yards out.

Nice Madrid build-up play ends with an Isco strike from just outside the box. It's on target but easily saved by Reina. Odriozola did well to beat his man to tee up his compatriot.
