Barcelona are concerned about the number of recurring muscular injuries their players have suffered in recent months. Four players have suffered a reccurence of a muscular injury this season, which they see as an unsustainable trend.

The first to suffer was Lionel Messi, who tore his soleus muscle in the first session of the summer on August 5. When he was about to return, he hurt it again, delaying his return to action. Luis Suárez was next when he tore his soleus against Athletic Club on August 17. He returned and reinjured himself against Levante.

Jordi Alba is another player who has been affected. He tore his hamstring against Borussia Dortmund and a month later did the same thing again against Slavia Prague.

And Dembélé is the latest. The 22-year-old suffered a hamstring injury to his right leg on November 27, which is the same muscle he injured at the end of last season, and has had persistent issues with. The tear is almost seven centimetres with damage to the tendon. He will miss 10 weeks of action.
