PSG are already guaranteed to be top of the Ligue 1 table going into the winter break.

Things are going very well for the Parisian club both in the league and in the Champions League, where they managed to finish unbeaten and top of Group A ahead of Real Madrid.

Now the pressure is on coach Thomas Tuchel to deliver in the Champions League this season, which is the club’s true objective after last season’s bitter disappointment against Manchester United.

And it is at this crucial point of the season that French outlet L'Equipe claims that Tuchel has become an isolated figure at the club, running with the headline “Alone in the Cauldron” on the front page of its Sunday edition.

Tuchel’s strained relationship with Mbappé, Neymar

L’Equipe’s claims are based on the three cases that are related to PSG’s attacking trio. Firstly is the issue with Kylian Mbappé, who has been unhappy with how he has been managed by Tuchel this season and has twice expressed his disappointment at being substituted lately.

The German coach also has a strained relationship with Edinson Cavani, who is also unhappy with Tuchel’s selection choices and could be set to leave the club due to a lack of prominence this season following the arrival of Inter Milan loanee Mauro Icardi.

As for the third affected party, Neymar, his relationship with the coach has always been odd and the Brazilian has apparently told those close to him that Tuchel has changed since Leonardo's return as sporting director.

So far Tuchel has achieved satisfactory results, but a slip up in the Champions League last 16 or quarter finals and he may not be sitting in the Parc des Princes bench next season.
