Pumas defeats Atlético San Luis in fifth week of Clausura 2020
The man of the match was Carlos González in the 4-0 victory against Atlético San Luis, who was unable to make a difference at the end of the 90 minutes.
Pumas keeps being one of the biggest revelations of the Clausura 2020 and they remain undefeated after five weeks. Today they hosted Atlético San Luis and demolished them 4-0 with Carlos González being Pumas' best player during the 90 minutes after scoring two goals.
Before kickoff it seemed like an even match but in the 33rd minute Favio Álvarez scored the first of the game. Carlos Felipe Rodríguez had a couple of great saves during the game for Atlético San Luis. When Pumas took the lead they started playing better.
In the first half of the game, the home team was playing very tough when González scored the second goal of the game in the 46th minute after a great pass from Pablo Barrera. Pumas ended the first 45 minutes with a 2-0 lead and Atlético San Luis didn’t seem to have an answer.
Guillermo Vázquez tried to change the formation in the second half but nothing worked against the almighty Pumas. Atlético San Luis started playing more offensively so the home team played counter attack and it worked for them because Juan Ignacio Dinenno scored the third of the game in the 64 minute and ten minutes later González got his second goal and the fourth of the match.
With this result, Pumas is in second place with 11 points and is waiting for the result between Queretaro and América to secure their current spot in the table. Meanwhile, Atlético San Luis is in twelve place.
