Felix Brych to oversee Napoli-FC Barcelona UCL clash
UEFA have confirmed that the German match official will be in charge of proceedings at the San Paolo stadium on Tuesday for the Round of 16 first leg clash.
44-year-old German referee Felix Brych has been designated as match official by UEFA ahead of Tuesday's Champions League Round of 16 tie (first leg) as Napoli welcome Barcelona to the San Paolo stadium.
The Bavarian official is an elite category referee and has overseen two UEFA showpiece finals in recent years being in charge in 2014 as Sevilla beat Benfica in the Europa League final. He was also in charge as Real Madrid claimed their 12th European Cup win in June 2017 beating Juventus in Cardiff and participated at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Brych has refereed Napoli already this season being at the centre of the action as the Serie A side beat defending champions Liverpool in the group stage back in September 2019. Byrch will be assisted by compatriots Mark Borsch and Stefan Lupp.
The other tie scheduled for Tuesday (Chelsea-Bayern Munich) will be officiated by Frenchman Celment Turpin.
