Guardiola 'welcomed' to the home of Real Madrid
The crowd inside the Santiago Bernabéu made their feelings known about the former Barcelona manager ahead of the Champions League match.
Boos and whistles. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola can't have expected anything less as he stepped out in front of the Santiago Bernabéu crowd.

There had already been a wall of whistles when his name was read out over the stadium loudspeakers ahead of kick-off. The former Barcelona player and coach is not a popular figure in the Spanish capital and his public comments over Catalonian independence have endeared him even less over recent years.

As expected, Zinedine Zidane was greeted with plenty of appreciation by the home fans. They hope the Frenchman can, once again, take them to the promised land with a fourteenth European Cup title.
