Ramos' call to arms following Real Madrid defeat to Man City
Sergio Ramos has decided to put Wednesday's loss to Man City swiftly behind him, calling on his Real Madrid team mates to focus on Clásico victory against Barcelona.
Sergio Ramos has chosen not to dwell on Real Madrid’s bitter defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night as the captain channelled his never-say-die attitude in a message posted on Twitter.
Having conceded two goals at home, Madrid will face an uphill battle when they travel to Manchester in a few weeks’ time, where they will need to score at least two goals if they are to have any hope of making it to the quarter finals.
Madrid’s woes were made worse soon after Kevin De Bruyne slotted home his penalty to give City a 2-1 lead, when captain Ramos was sent off in the dying minutes of the game for a last-man tug on Gabriel Jesús.
Ramos: "Head and heart on el Clásico"
The veteran defender will now miss the second leg but has called on his team mates to concentrate on achieving victory at the Etihad. But first up, of course, is El Clásico.
“After a very difficult night, there are two options: we can think about yesterday's defeat or work on tomorrow's win,” tweeted Ramos.
"I choose the latter. Head and heart already on el Clásico."
Following two straight defeats to Levante (1-0) and City, Madrid will look to bounce back on Sunday at the Bernabéu when they face leaders Barcelona, who are currently two points ahead of Los Blancos.
