Juventus want to renew Ronaldo until he is 39
The Portuguese star is 35 and has a contract until 2022 but Juventus want to renew the attacker and bring in young talent to convince him to stay.
After Daniele Rugani tested positive for coronavirus and with no football to play, Juventus have started working on the things within their control and objectives they had aimed for in the medium term. One such task is Cristiano Ronaldo's contract renewal.
The Portuguese is currently in Madeira in self-isolation and has a contract with Juve until 2022 despite being 35 now. His performances continue to be excellent and he has scored 25 goals in 32 games this year with four assists. Since 1 December, he scored in every Serie A game except against Brescie (he was not in the squad) and the last game against Inter Milan. That's a run of 11 goals in as many games and the club are keen not to lose such a potent goalscorer.

Tuttosport outline Juventus' plans to prolong his stay for two more years. That would mean his contract expires at Juve when he is 39 but at that stage, his salary might outweigh his input. He is currently on €31 million per year but they say in the Italian publication that Ronaldo is not the type to do things in half measures.
While they try to renew their Portuguese star, they will also try to find another goalscorer who is a lot younger. Timo Werner has been mentioned along with Harry Kane, Gabriel Jesus and Mauro Icardi. The plan is not to replace Ronaldo but to find a number '9' who could play alongside him and complement his skills while improving their attack. That way, they can convince Ronaldo of the possibility of winning titles and ensure he maintains his top form in front of goal.
