Mbappé can mark an era at Real Madrid, says Unai Emery

Spanish coach Unai Emery has no doubt that Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé is capable of creating an era of success at Real Madrid.

Mbappé can mark an era at Real Madrid, says Unai Emery

Kylian Mbappé has got what it takes to mark an era at Real Madrid and may end up feeling a little unfulfilled at Paris Saint-Germain, says Unai Emery. Mbappé has long been linked with a move to Madrid with his contract at PSG expiring in 2022. Emery coached the France international for a season at PSG in 2017-18, when they won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue together. The Spaniard believes Mbappé has the talent to create a spectacular period at Madrid, if he decided to make the move.

A joy to watch Mbappé play - Emery

"Of course he has the ability to mark an era in Madrid," Emery told AS. "Which league who I advise him to play in? When I was in France, I loved watching him play and I was happy to be able to see it first hand. When I went to England, I would have liked him to have seen him play in the Premier League. And if I return to Spain, I hope he comes to LaLiga"

Mbappé has already won three Ligue 1 titles with PSG – and another with Monaco – while he helped France to their World Cup success in 2018. While Emery believes the forward may be happy at PSG, he said there may be aspects that could leave the player unfulfilled.

"I'm sure there will be some things about being at PSG that will give him what he needs and maybe other things that won't. And perhaps Real Madrid might be able to offer him some of the things that he is lacking at PSG. We are lucky to have two of the best teams in the world - Real Madrid and Barcelona, and I personally would like them to continue having the best players in the world."
