The minister has been in hospital since Monday after testing positive for coronavirus, having earlier displayed some of the virus symptoms such as fever and shortness of breath.

On Friday Jain's lung condition deteriorated as he developed pneumonia, which forced doctors to place him on oxygen support. However, the latest CT scan conducted didn't seem very promising as it showed that his pneumonia patch has expanded, although the government stated that the minister's condition was improving.
