Aspire Zone's summer programme a huge success

Aspire Zone launched a summer programme to foster healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle among children forced to adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aspire Zone's summer programme a huge success

Aspire Zone’s virtual summer programme achieved great success last month by attracting participants of all age groups across social media platforms Instagram and YouTube amid the circumstances imposed by the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic.

Abdullah Aman Al-Khater, Director of Events and Installations at Aspire Zone said: “Under the current circumstances that the entire world is facing, we at Aspire Zone have been able to make the best of the leisure time afforded to children and channeled their energy into beneficial activities during the quarantine period. Lots of children have participated and acquired new abilities through a team of instructors who have also provided advice on nutrition and a healthy diet.”

Gawaher Al-Neama, head of the Sports Nutrition department at sports medicine and orthopeadics centre Aspetar, added: “This programme has been designed to encourage people in the community to adopt healthy eating habits and to share information and recommendations that help to educate families, above all children who during the summer have been under the restrictions imposed by the novel coronavirus.”

Aspire Zone's summer programme

The virtual summer programme launched by Aspire Zone on Instagram and YouTube during July was designed to motivate people to continue on the path of a healthy and active lifestyle.

The programme included initiatives for children aged between five and 10 such as an aptitude test once a week and other activities for 11-14-year-olds comprised of six exercises in various subjects.
