Ansu Fati becomes second youngest scorer in El Clásico history
The young star has been lighting things up at the Camp Nou and his equalising goal on Saturday against Los Blancos was another milestone in his short career.
Ansu Fati continues on his inexorable path to glory. In his first Clásico, the young striker finished off a lovely move with aplomb in just the 8th minute, levelling the game after an early Valverde strike. In doing so, he became the second youngest goalscorer in the famous fixture and also goes down in the record books as the player who scored Barcelona's 400th goal against Real Madrid.
Ansu Fati adds Clásico to milestones
There has been no player doing what he is doing at such a young age in LaLiga since the 1930s. With one week to go before his 18th birthday, Fati has already equalled the numbers of the legendary Basque striker, José Irragorri, who scored eleven goals for Athletic Bilbao before turning 18 in 1930. Almost one hundred years later, Fati is making his own name as a teenager. As Mister Chip reminds us, at the age of 17 years and 358 days, his goal on Saturday at the Camp Nou just three days behind Alfonso Navarro who scored in El Clásico back on 30 March 1947.
The Spanish international is already the youngest striker to score in the Champions League and the youngest in the history of FC Barcelona to score in LaLiga, just adding to the milestones.
The 400th And he also enters the history of the Classics by scoring the 400th Blaugrana goal in the fixture. Ever since the first goal was scored by the German Udo Steinberg in 1902, the list of centennial goal scorers against Real Madrid has been as follows: César Rodriguez (100), Bernd Schuster (200) and Luis Enrique (300).
