Ancelotti's Everton interested in Isco
Isco is no longer part of Zidane's starting XI plans and could leave, with Ancelotti's Everton interested. His fee would help finance the arrival of Kylian Mbappé from PSG in 2021.
Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcón to Goodison Park. Carlo Ancelotti is aware of the situation of the Malaga born player at the Santiago Bernabéu and believes that he could fit into his project for next season.
According to the Daily Mirror, Everton are already working on obtaining the services of the midfielder and bringing him to the north of England. Isco, however, does not plan to leave in January and will fight for his place in the Madrid team until the end of the season. When the 2020/21 campaign ends and the transfer market opens next summer, the 28-year-old is considering a move away from Los Blancos.
Real Madrid will consider the fee involving the potential departure of Isco, since it would contribute to financing the signing of Kylian Mbappé in 2021. The Frenchman will be entering his last season with Paris Saint-Germain, with his contract running until 2022 in the French capital and Madrid know that next summer is their chance to get the player who seems destined to dominate world football over the next decade.
Isco struggling for spot in team
Since the arrival of Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, Isco has gone through good and bad periods of form. In the 4-3-3 system used by the French coach, he has failed to grab a place in the team ahead of Zidane's usual midfield three of Casemiro, Kroos and Modric. Isco did however shine in the final stretch of the double-winning season when Zidane went with a 4-1-2-1-2 and Isco acted as playmaker, his best position, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema and ahead of the aforementioned trio. Starting from there, he scored the goal that sent Madrid through to the 2017 Champions League final after beating cross-city rivals Atlético Madrid at the Vicente Calderón in the semi-final. Madrid went on to win the final, defeating Juventus 4-1.
This season, Isco has not featured as much as he would have hoped. He started against Valladolid (playing 57 minutes), but has only seen 177 minutes of action in the league so far and did not feature in El Clásico or in the Champions League games. He is still looking for his first goal and assist of the campaign too.
Ancelotti getting the best out of James
The Premier League and Everton is seen as a possible next destination for Isco. Carlo Ancelotti's team have gotten off to a strong start this season with the help of former Madrid player James Rodríguez. Ancelotti has found a place on the right wing at Everton for one of his favourite players, where he can come in onto his trusty left foot and feed Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison. The English striker is surely delighted with the arrival of the Colombian - he has found a partner who provides him with quality crosses - which has seen him score seven goals in just six Premier matches, and be the second top scorer in the English Premier League.
Reunited with Carlo
Under Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Isco was one of the most important players in the team, playing 106 games in just two seasons. The Spain international enjoyed a remarkable spell of his career playing as a midfielder in the Italian's classic 4-3-3 but also on the wing in a 4-4-2. A new adventure calls for the man from Malaga who, like James, could be resurrected on the blue side of Liverpool.
