Edson Álvarez wants to play for Manchester City
The Mexican player is starting his second season at Ajax, but he revealed that his main goal is to one day play in the Premier League with Manchester City.
Edson Álvarez is in his second season at Ajax and he is already thinking about his future. During an interview with Voetbalzone, the 23-year-old said he dreams of one day playing in the Premier League with Manchester City and he also talked about the differences between playing in the Eredivisie and the Liga MX.
“To be honest my goal is to one day play in the Premier League and my favorite team is Manchester City,” Álvarez said.

Álvarez left Club América after 113 appearances, five goals and one assist, establishing himself as a key player for coach Miguel Herrera. He moved to Ajax in 2019 with very high expectations, but he admitted that it has been hard to adjust to the Eredivisie because of the different styles of play.
“I am satisfied with what I have shown so far, but here everything is faster and that makes you have less time to think with the ball and make decisions. That is something I have to improve if I want to catch the eye of Pep Guardiola,” he added.
