Arda Turan announces he has tested positive for Covid-19
The Turkey international published the news on his social media accounts explaining that he has already started to self-isolate.
Galatasaray midfielder Arda Turan has confirmed he has contracted Covid-19. Turan informed his fans of the news through his social media accounts as he wrote noting that he has already started his self-isolation process “My Covid-19 test that was done yesterday has returned positive. I’m currently isolated in a hospital and receiving treatment. See you soon,”.
The 33-year-old winger announcement came shortly after his club had announced that three players among their squad had tested positive for the infection without revealing the players' names.
It remained unclear which players contracted the infection until the ex-Barcelona player broke the news to his fans and followers.
Having witnessed two positive cases earlier, the Süper Lig club has so far seen five players infected with Covid-19.
Turan hasn't had the best of luck since leaving Atlético Madrid for Barcelona in 2011 before he returned to his homeland where he played for Başakşehir and is currently among the ranks of Turkish giants Galatasaray. He didn't have the best start with his current team either and has been subject to a lot of criticism recently.
Over the past few days, many high-rank players have contracted the infection including the Egyptian Premier League stars Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Alnenny.
