Liverpool vs Leicester City: how and where to watch - times, TV, online

The Premier League 2020/21 continues to offer up some mouth-watering fixtures for the distant fans sitting in front of a screen due to coronavirus restrictions. And to conclude Sunday's action, the runaway champions of last season welcome the side that were leading the table as we entered this matchweek: Liverpool vs Leicester City will attract much attention.

Liverpool vs Leicester City: match preview

All the talk in recent days, and weeks, has been about the players that are not available for Liverpool. The list almost rolls off the tongue now: Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez could all miss out on the game (and many more for some) while Mohamed Salah contracted covid-19 after attending a wedding in Egypt during the international break so will also be unavailable.

That said, Klopp has a few decent players still to pick from if the generally solid Joel Matip is fit enough to start, he will have either Rhys Williams or Nat Phillips by his side. It’s up front where The Reds will be hoping to take the game to their visitors, with Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota all capable of causing problems.

For Brendan Rodgers, it’s a trip back to his old club, one he took to the verge of that Premier League title that Klopp then delivered. He will be without Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu and the Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who both are out injured. He will be pleased to see Belgian full-back Timothy Castagne back in the reckoning though, and Wesley Fofana should also be ready.

This is surely Leicester City's best chance to end a Liverpool unbeaten home run that stretches back to April 2017. But as the record suggests, many, many sides have come here with a similar ambition and failed.
