FC Midtjylland vs Liverpool: how and where to watch - times, TV, online
All the information you need to know on how and where to watch the Champions League Group D tie between FC Midtjylland and Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp will be expected to ring in the changes for Liverpool’s dead rubber tie against FC Midtjylland in their final Group D match at the Arena Herning.
With Liverpool having already secured their top spot in the group with 12 points from 5 games, the Reds boss will have the luxury of resting several key players before upcoming Premier League games against Fulham and Tottenham on Sunday and Wednesday, respectively.
Although with a lengthy injury list that includes Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcantara, James Milner, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Liverpool’s ability for complete rotation will be somewhat impeded.
Midtjylland, meanwhile, also have nothing to play for but pride. With just one point picked up from five games, the Danish minnows will hope to add at least one more against the six-time winners of the competition. But that, of course, will be no easy feat, even against a second-rate Liverpool side who will be keen to keep to make it five wins from six before heading into the knock-out phases.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s meeting, Klopp insisted his side were determined to win, despite their qualification for the Champions League last 16 already being secured.
“I know they think in this moment we are a big chance for them, a big name, but they expect us to make some changes and stuff like this. They have a home game, so they can go to four points, which would be a big one. From a financial point of view, winning a game in the Champions League is a big one,” said Klopp at Tuesday’s press conference.
“But the bad news [for them] from my side is we go there with all we have. We try absolutely everything to win that game, we want to have 15 points. But with all the respect for Midtjylland and they didn’t have to change their system that I think a lot about them, because since Sunday I have nothing else to do than thinking about Midtjylland. It’s not finished yet. We will be there and hopefully we will be prepared.”
