Fast food opening hours on Christmas Eve and Day: McDonalds, Dominos, Starbucks...
While Christmas this year will be unusual for man restaurants due to Covid-19 restrictions, some fast food chains will be open during festivities.
To call 2020 an atypical year would be a understatement and for many households this Christmas will be like no other. Due to rising Covid-19 cases in the US and restrictions on domestic travel, many families will not be able to get together over the festive period. For some, there will be no traditional Christmas meal and many families will be celebrating on a smaller scale. If you simply cannot face the stress of being in the kitchen, cooking for family or friends, there is always the option of eating out – although choice is a little more limited than during the pre-pandemic days.
If you fancy something quick and simple, a cheap bite to eat, a takeaway meal or just go somewhere for a coffee, a number of outlets which will be opening on Christmas Day or right the way through the festive season.
McDonalds
Over 99% of McDonald’s restaurants in remain open and will be serving customers all the way through Christmas. Some seating areas will be closed as part of the chain’s response to coronavirus and other health and safety measures such as social distancing, cleaning/sanitizing are in place. Some restaurants only offer a Drive-Thru service. McDonald’s have been offering a selection of holiday deals every day until 24 December. Burger King
Burger King will be open as usual on Christmas Eve but operating on reduced hours only on Christmas Day. To find out when your branch will be open over the Christmas period, you can call customer services, in advance – i.e.. Before the 25th, on telephone the hotline: 1-866-394-2493. Service will also be limited on New Year’s Eve.
Five Guys
Most Five Guys restaurants are closed for business on Christmas Day but should be open, operating reduced hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. More information for your area will be available on the Five Guys app which can be downloaded on Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut will be opening on reduced hours on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day. But it will be open as normal, with their regular timetable on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
KFC
Kentucky Fried Chicken are offering their famous holiday-themed commemorative buckets during the festive period, including two vintage ones with designs from 1966 and 1971 – both featuring a smiling Colonel Sanders. Most KFC restaurants should be open during standard opening hours – 10am – 11pm on Christmas Eve but the majority are closed on 25 December.
Domino’s
If you fancy a pizza, best to get your order in early to Domino’s on Christmas Eve as staff will be working limited hours. All but a few select branches will be closed on 25 December but you can check if one near you is open by consulting their store locator, Twitter or Facebook page.
Starbucks
Like their competitors, Starbucks will be offering a range of seasonal products over the Christmas period. Some stores will be open throughout and the company is encouraging the use of their store locator to find your nearest branch and opening times. Their Mobile App can be downloaded here.
Subway
Some stores remain open throughout the festive period although with limited working hours. Those that are open to customers on Christmas Day will open later and close earlier than normal. To keep informed, you can always download their App which is available here:
Dunkin'
Many Dunkin' stores will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but it is advised to check if your local store is open in advance. One way is to call the customer service hotline: 1-800-859-5399 a couple of days in advance, check their social media sites or better still, download their Mobile App.
