Taking to Twitter this weekend, René Ramos shared a post by the Spanish football journalist Alfredo Duro that criticised Real Madrid for their failure to tie their skipper down to a new agreement.
"Someone needs to explain how and why we have got this point, one where you [the club] have allowed your captain, a Madrid legend, to appear in absurd XIs of players who are now able to sign for another team," Duro wrote.
