Joe Biden’s first term as President of the United States begins at noon Wednesday 20 January. The day of virtual events begins at 10:30am with the Inaugural Ceremony, when President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris will be sworn in on the West front of the U.S. Capitol building. After they take their oaths of office, President-elect Biden will deliver an inaugural address laying out his vision on the next four years for America.

Following the ceremony, the President-elect, First Lady, Vice President-elect, and Second Gentleman will participate in a Pass in Review on the East front with members of the military. According to the Biden inauguration website Pass in Reviews are a long-standing military tradition that reflect the peaceful transfer of power to a new Commander-in-Chief.

Next up there will be an inaugural celebration for young Americans followed by a wreath laying at Arlington cemetery and at 3pm Biden will receive a Presidential military escort and a nationwide parade of performances which will be live streamed from diverse communities across the country.

The cherry on the cake will be a concert called “Celebrating America.” Here’s what to expect.

The final event in the inauguration ceremony is called Celebrating America, and is due to be hosted by Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, who in 2020 was diagnosed with covid-19.

According to the Presidential Inauguration Committee, the 90-minute prime-time special programme is set to feature remarks from President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris and include various performances that represent the diversity and talent in America.

Celebrating America concert will feature Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, and Kerry Washington.

Timberlake and Clemons will sing their collaboration "Better Days," which the former *NSYNC member described on Twitter as "our way of doing what little we could to encourage everyone to stay hopeful and to keep working towards a better future."

The artists will perform at "iconic locations across the country," according to a statement from the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
