David Alaba's future remains unclear. The only thing that is certain, at the moment, is that the defender will not strike a new deal with Bayern Munich and looks set to move on over the summer. In Germany, there are now doubts about whether Alaba will end up joining Real Madrid, who were the bookies' favourites to get him on a free transfer in June. According to Sport Bildthe Austrian defender and his representatives would be open to a move to England, if a better offer comes in..

"Talks between Real Madrid and Alaba's agent Pini Zahavi are not as advanced as the Spanish media make out," Sport Bild claimed on Wednesday. "At the moment, Alaba's agent is waiting for new offers to come in from England. Meanwhile, the players is considering putting his dream of playing in Spain to one side if he receives a better offer from England". The German daily revealed that Chelsea is the Premier League club who will scrap it out with Madrid for Alaba.

But Chelsea are not the only ones. Barcelona have also joined the chase for the two-time champion of Europe and Sport Bild adds that the chances of the player ending up at Camp Nou are not as remote as they might seem. "Alaba's agents still view Barcelona as a possible next destination. Presidential candidate Joan Laporta has close ties to Pini Zahavi," the German publication concluded, explaining that Alaba would equally be open to a move to Camp Nou.
