Mostafa Mohamed: Galatasaray is my second home
The Egyptian striker expressed his happiness and gratitude for being at the Turkish giants in a press conference where new signings were presented.
Super Lig club Galatasaray held a press conference on Tuesday to present the team's new signings, including promising Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed, who joined from Zamalek on a loan deal with an option to buy and who expressed how happy he is to be part of the "biggest club in Turkey".
The 23-year-old has got off on the right foot with his new team's fans, netting twice in his first two games and deciding the derby against Fenerbahçe by scoring the game's only goal.
"I want to thank everyone who contributed to completing my move here including the club's president and the coach. I don't feel any difference, I feel I am at my second home" Mohamed said in the conference.
Mostafa also thanked the fans, whom he considered a significant factor in helping him decide to join the Turkish outfit as he felt their love for the club reminded him of Zamalek fans.
He also confirmed that he had earlier received an offer from rivals Fenerbahçe last year that turned down: "I received an offer from Fenerbahçe last summer, and then Galatasaray showed their interest during the last winter transfer window, and I am happy with my place in the biggest club in Turkey and with my new family and the fans".
Mostafa's current contract with Galatasaray runs till mid-2022 with the club retaining the right to activate a $4 million purchase clause before next December.
