Barcelona vs PSG live online: Champions League 2020/21.

The most important tournament in European club football is back with a bang: offering up one of the most biggest matches of the season. Barcelona take on PSG this Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 battle at Camp Nou. All eyes will be on this one, and in particular on Messi and Mbappé.

The hosts go into the match after smashing Alavés in LaLiga (5-1) although most of their goals came late in the second half, after a dangerous 2-1 for Barcelona and the possibility of a draw on the cards.

Meanwhile, PSG had to dig deep to beat Nice (2-1) in Ligue 1. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are sitting second in the standings, with 54 points, one behind leaders Lille. The French powerhouses haven’t been defeated in their last four games, when Lorient beat the Parisian side at the end of January.

PSG want revenge

The Champions League runners-up will try to raise the title after losing to Bayern Munich in last season’s final (1-0) and playing against Barcelona probably means a boost for Pochettino’s men, as they probably have Barça’s historical comeback in 2017 in their minds.

The Parisians seemed to be the favourites in December... but now?

However, the situation has changed substantially from December to present, as Barcelona have improved their game and will have their main stars ready for the match and PSG won’t have Neymar and Ángel Di María.

Moreover, the French side will have to do their best if they want to go back to Paris with the victory, as the only French club to get the better of Barcelona at Camp Nou was Metz in the 1984-85 Cup Winners' Cup.

Barcelona won’t have Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho, Ronald Araújo and Sergi Roberto, who scored the crucial sixth goal of 'La Remontada' (6-1).

Dest is back, Piqué doubtful

The good news for Koeman is that Sergiño Dest is back with the team, so the American rising star could take Óscar Mingueza’s spot. Meanwhile Gerard Piqué remains a mistery, as the centre-back seems to be recovered but the match might come too early for him.

If he finally features against PSG, he could partner with Samuel Umtiti, so Frenkie de Jong could play in midfield. Youngster Ilaix Moriba, who played against Alavés, is expected to be replaced by Pedri.

Ousmane Dembélé should feature in the starting XL together with Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi in the attacking line. Trincao, who had a good performance on Saturday, could also have minutes against the French side.

Neymar and Di María out

As previously mentioned, Neymar has been ruled out for the match due to an adductor injury and the Brazilian superstar could also miss out the second leg at the Parc des Princes.

Moreover, another key player, the Argentinian Ángel Di Maria, won’t be available to play against the Catalan giants due to a thick injury.

Marco Verratti and Rafinha were doubtful but but they have both been included in the squad.

More problems for Pochettino

But the problems are also in defence, as Colin Dagba, Timothée Pembélé and Juan Bernat are unavailable, so Pochettino will need to make plenty of changes to have a competitive team in such an important encounter.

Moise Kean will probably be in the starting XI together with Julian Draxler, Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappé in the attack.
