PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have entered into a four-way transfer duel for the opportunity to land Racing de Avellaneda youngster Gonzalo Sousa, who has been dubbed “El Talentoso [the talented one]” in Argentina.

Representatives from PSG were due to meet with the Racing board on Thursday to try and muscle to the front of the queue for the 15-year-old attacking midfielder by offering to obtain 50 percent of the player’s rights and letting him remain at the Argentinean club until his 18th birthday in 2023. Meanwhile, Madrid, Bayern and Manchester City are all scrambling to find a way to tempt Racing into doing business for Sosa, who is already training with the first team while turning out for the under-20 side.

According to sources close to the footballer, Sosa’s dream is to play for Real Madrid, an outcome that he views as “touching the sky with his hands.” However, the Premier League side are willing to throw significant cash at the issue while Bayern - who have a proven recent record of bringing young players through - retain a keen interest but have yet to table an offer.

Sosa first came to Real Madrid’s attention via former manager Santiago Solari, who flagged the youngster when he was in charge of the first team and provided regular updates on his progress. The Bernabéu is due to send scouts to watch Sosa in March.

While Europe’s heavyweights jostle for position, Racing are aware they have also need to formalize Sosa’s position at the club and are set to offer the player a first professional contract on his 16th birthday on 5 March.
