Dak Prescott could be 100% healthy by April, but his future is up in the air

Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in Week 5 of the 2020 National Football League season in the victory against the New York Giants. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback required two ankle surgeries and he has remained positive throughout the process of recovery.

According to Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys QB has been working hard and he could reach full fitness in April ahead of the 2021 NFL season. It is expected that Prescott will be fully involved during the offseason as he continues his ankle recovery.

Negotiations about his contract

Prior to the beginning of the 2020 NFL season, Prescott decided not to renew his rookie contract with the Dallas Cowboys, because the organization didn’t agree to his terms. Now there are negotiations ongoing with the franchise and the QB about a long-term deal.

It is expected that the Dallas Cowboys will put the franchise tag on him for a second year in a row, just to see how well he plays after the serious ankle injury he suffered. If the organization decides to go this way, Prescott might not agree to the terms.

He entered the 2020 NFL season on a one-year contract that was worth $31.4 million, but the injury has put in jeopardy his future with the Cowboys. It will be up to the bosses at Dallas if they want to bet on Prescott and offer him a long-term deal or else he could start looking for other options.
