Update:
Ramos: "Signing Haaland over Mbappé would be easier for Real Madrid"

Speaking in a chat with Ibai Llanos on Twitch, Sergio Ramos explained that he would sign Erling Haaland over Kylian Mbappé for Real Madrid.

The Madrid captain admitted that in an ideal world he would sign both, however due to the current financial situation caused by the global pandemic, he believes a move for Haaland would be the better option.

Haaland or Mbappé

Maybe, due to the circumstances at this moment, I think it would be slightly easier to sign Haaland. Because I think at the end of the day, the one who perhaps is taking over from the likes of Cris, Messi and Neymar is Mbappé. I think the economic circumstances are more complicated and he is a player who it might be difficult to reach an agreement with. But I don't think it would be a bad idea for Real Madrid to strengthen the attack with a No.9 like Haaland.

With Haaland's hunger to score goals, to win trophies. And he might give us something which we don't have - with his height, his pace and his goals. He's a player who can bring a lot and improve the current Real Madrid side - that's not to say that Kylian Mbappé wouldn't be able to do that as well, of course he could. But the way things are at the moment, it might be a bit easier to reach an agreement for Haaland.

Messi at Real Madrid

Would I accept Messi in Madrid? 100%. Without a doubt. I would even invite him to my house to help him (laughs). And... I would never play for Barcelona, not even for €50 million or for €70 million per year. There some things that money can't buy. It's impossible.

Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Madrid

Before the final in Kiev you could see that Cristiano was leaving, I didn't want to believe it and was hoping that he'd change his mind but it was already decided. He could never be blamed, Cris had the right to make a decision regarding his future.

Career influences

The coach who has been the most decisive in my career has been Joaquín Caparrós. Joaquín was the first to put me in. He found a way to play me alongside Dani Alves. I will always be grateful to him. Later, Luis Aragonés marked an era. Also Ancelotti and Zidane, who were very important.
