Martin Odegaard was the star of the second half for Arsenal against West Ham and as things start to come together for him in London, doubts are growing over his return to parent club Real Madrid when the loan deal comes to an end.

The Gunners were 3-0 down in the first half but managed to come away with a creditable 3-3 draw against the Hammers. The Norwegian played the full 90 minutes and impressed many onlookers with his work-rate and pinpoint passing, attributes that had many in Madrid surprised when Zinedine Zidane was so reluctant to use him.

The playmaker’s teammates have watched him grow in stature at the Premier League club and Calum Chambers shared his view after the game.

“He has done brilliant,” the English defender began after Odegaard had been voted Man of the Match. “He is a great lad if you speak to him. I get on well with him. He feels at home here. He feels good.

“He’s doing well in training. He works incredibly hard - in training and games. I think everyone is really pleased and I hope he continues the form he’s on.”

Later Chambers replied to the Norwegian’s Instagram post with a single descriptive word: “Wizard!”

I have felt at home since the first day, I am happy to be here and feel great.

“You never know what is going to happen. For now, I am just focusing on doing my best this season and helping the team as much as possible.”
