A series of legends from the Spanish game singled out which player they have enjoyed watching this season with Joaquín and Benzema named alongside Messi.

A series of LaLiga legends including the likes of Mendieta, Kanoute, McManaman and Fernando Hierro were asked to single out players they had enjoyed watching during the 2020/21 season.

Mendieta and Macca had no doubts in singling out FC Barcelona club captain Lionel Messi with the Argentine instrumental in reviving the Catalan club's form after an indifferent start to the campaign. Despite elimination in the UEFA Champions League, Ronald Koeman's side are in the final of the 2020/21 Copa del Rey and sit in second place in LaLiga.

Former Real Madrid club captain Fernando Hierro went for the veteran option in singling out Real Betis player Joaquin Sanchez who is now 39 and still a vital player for "Los Verdiblancos".
