MLB Opening Day 2021 results: scores, standings, postponed games
13 of the 15 games scheduled for Opening Day 2021 on Thursday went ahead, with Orioles-Red Sox and Mets-Nationals both called off.
Four months after the Los Angeles Dodgers were crowned World Series champions, Major League Baseball returned on Thursday as the 2021 regular season got underway.
It was an Opening Day marked by two things: several matches were decided in extra innings and two games were postponed.

MLB Opening Day 2021: postponed games
While the game in Boston between the Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles was postponed to Friday due to rain, the Washington Nationals’ match-up with the New York Mets was called off after three Washington players tested positive for the coronavirus.
MLB has not said when the game will be made up, and has stated that it "remains to be determined" whether the teams' next fixture, scheduled for Saturday, will go ahead.
