Who is Logan Paul? Why is he famous?
Logan Paul will fight Floyd Mayweather at Hard Rock Stadium on 6 June. He hasn't won a boxing match, but is a heavyweight in the social-media world.
As of a few months ago most of the YouTube world, if not all, knew who Logan Paul is. Since his 6 June fight with Floyd Mayweather was announced in December of 2020, the older Paul brother began to introduce himself to the sports world.
If you aren’t one of his nearly 30 million subscribers, or one of the millions planning on either going to Hard Rock Stadium or buying the Pay-Per-View for the fight, allow me to explain who exactly Logan Paul is.
The West Lake Ohio native was born in 1995 and rose to fame with the rise of social media app Vine in 2013. When Vine shut down, Paul started creating video blogs, or vlogs for those of us who aren’t up to date with the internet terms.
Paul brothers were the first to cross over from YouTube to boxing
He started his YouTube channel, TheOfficialLoganPaul, in October of 2013. He later started another channel simply titled Logan Paul. Six billion views and 28 million subscribers later, he earned himself a date with one of boxing's biggest names.
Paul also had a brief acting career, making a guest appearance on Law and Order: SVU and Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark. He also featured in sci-fi web thriller “The Thinning” and “The Thinning: New World Order.”
The 2016 single “2016” didn’t propel him to the billboard charts but it did add to his extensive CV.
Logan still searching for first win in the ring
In 2018, Logan and his brother Jake organized a boxing match between British YouTubers KSI and Deji Olatunji. This started a shockwave of crossbreed entertainment that will culminate with Logan fighting one of the best boxers in the history of the sport.
While Jake has made headlines with his knockouts of former NBA star Nate Robinson and retired UFC fighter Ben Askren, the older Paul brother, however, has not fared so well.
Both of Logan Paul’s fights were against KSI, and he failed to win either. The first ended as a majority draw and the second was a split decision.

Somehow, someway the YouTuber has convinced Floyd “Money” Mayweather to step into the ring with him in an eight-round exhibition in Miami, Florida. The fight is expected to fill Hard Rock Stadium and Pay-Per-View sales are projected in the millions.
Love them or hate them, the Paul brothers are heavy hitters in the social-media world and look like they are here to stay in the boxing world.
