Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight as it happened: result and highlights

Update:
YouTuber Logan Paul survived the full eight rounds in an exhibition against undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather and from Miami's Hard Rock Stadium

Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul live updates

Logan Paul went eight full rounds with a living legend Floyd Mayweather in the boxing event of the year. “Pretty Boy” Floyd dominated a relatively dull fight, but the YouTuber survived and went the distance with the undefeated champion.

Last week it was announced there would be no judges for the eight round exhibition, so there was no winner announced at the end of the bout.

The size advantage for Logan Paul was evident as soon as the two stepped in the ring. Paul has at least 30 pounds and seven inches on the welterweight champion.

Floyd used the first two rounds to measure up the social media star. He sat back and let Paul throw his punches, all the while ducking and dipping from contact.

Paul came out swinging

Paul seemed to use the majority of his energy in those first two rounds, and connected on very few punches. He did have a flurry of punches to end the second round to get the crowd on it’s feet. Mayweather ducked for cover and very few of the sloppy, unorthodox punches actually landed.

In the third round Paul was visibly exhausted after expending almost all of his energy in the opening four minutes of the fight. Mayweather was still keeping at a distance in the third round seeing the signs of fatigue, but continuing to let Paul chase.

Mayweather showed why he is one of the best fighters ever in the fourth, when he caught the oldest of the Paul brother with a few left hooks and a counter punch that brought the bout to life after a quiet first few rounds.

Floyd tired Paul out after three rounds

The YouTuber was gassed after the first few rounds, and “Money” started connecting on almost every punch he threw. In the fifth round, Paul caught his second wind in the fifth and actually connected on a combo.

The couple punches that Logan landed seemed spark “The Best Ever.” A few left hooks and a big upper cut left Paul’s face swollen going to the sixth. The social media star did prove one thing today, he can take a punch.

Fans didn't get the KO they were hoping for

The seventh and eighth round were disappointingly anticlimactic. An exhausted Paul insisted to hold and hug Mayweather trying to by time to reach the finish line.

With no judges, many expected and wanted a knockout, but with Mayweather’s famous defensive style and Paul’s enormous hight advantage over Floyd it was always going to be tough to give the people what they wanted.

Arians and Jack winners of the official undercards

In the undercard fights, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson was knocked down in the fourth round by former MMA fighter Brian Maxwell. The former Bengal held his ground for the first three rounds, but hit the deck in the fourth and final round after a big right hook form Maxwell.

Luis Arias had the biggest night of his pro boxing career after taking down Jarett Hurd in one of two official sanctioned fights tonight.

In the second official fight of the night Badou Jack treated fans to the only early stoppage after knocking down Dervin Colina three times in the fourth round.

It may not been the fight that the people were hoping for, but both Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are going to sleep tonight tens of millions of dollars richer than they were when they woke up this morning

We are underway with Hurd and Arias in the second fight of this four fight card form Hard Rock Stadium

Hurd is the heavy favorite coming into the fight at -900

Slowly but surely the Hard Rock Stadium is staring to fill.

Tale of the Tape Hurd vs Arias

Hurd is the first to enter the ring. He's coming into the ring with a heavy heart after losing his father, Fred Hurd Sr. this year.

Luis Arias is 18-2-1 with one no contest. He was a top amatuer, but has disappointed of late. He is 30 years old and this is maybe his last chance to make a big splash in the boxing world.

Hurd is a former unified light middleweight world champion. He is 24-1 and has 16 wins by KO

Jarett Hurd and Luis Arias are the next to take the ring at Hard Rock Stadium

While the first fight may have been sloppy, both fighters untrained, I must say it was entertaining. Johnson looked good at the beginning, Maxwell ended well with the knock down. I must say, I wouldn't have minded a few more rounds.

Maxwell announcing to the world they need to recognize who he is after getting beat by Ocho Cinco for three rounds.

So no winner will be announced as there are no judges. Chad came out strong. Maxwell got the knock down in the last roundl.

Chad looked like he won the first three rounds, but the lasting image of this fight will be Johnoson getting dropped by that right hook of Maxwell.

The first of four fights is over! Both boxers meet in the center of the ring and give daps, hug and exchange respct.

Johnson got up but is still woozy

Maxwell just dropped Johnson with a right hook!

No winner will be announced unless there is a knockout. Both fighter will be swinging for the fences

Maxwell  and Johnson started the third round with some big swings none of which connected. Butr here we go to the fourth and final round

This third round has started with some haymakers. Maxwell came out wailing, Chad withstood the attck and got a couple jabs in return.

Round three underway, Johnson looking in control.

It hasn't been pretty, but it has been entertaining. Two untrained boxers letting the punches fly in the first round and some change.

Second round is underway!

Just two minute rounds in this exhibition. The first round is over and Chad came out attacking.

Chad starting strong with a couple strong jabs that may have just caught Maxwell off guard

Here we go! Johnson and Maxwell are under way from Miami in the first round of the first fight

Chad Johnson is 43 years old, ten years older fhan Maxwell. Ocho Cinco is still in fantasic shape and has the reach advantage over Maxwell.

Ocho Cinco is entering the ring, and without question this is the most empty he has ever seen the Miami Dolphins stadium. A very humble entrance for Chad. I was hoping he would come out putting on a show from the start.

The first fight will be an exhibition of four two minute rounds between Maxwell and Johnson.

Maxwell in 2-3 in his MMA career, and went 0-3 in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Badou Jack vs Dervin Colina may be the most even, best fight of the night. Colina was a split second replacement after Jean Pascal tested positive for banned substances.

Coverage is underway from Miami, and although it is still early the Hard Rock there are a lot of empty seats.

Money is in Miami

We are just a minute away from coverage on the main event of this year, Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather wil finally fight tonight from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Being exhibitions, the Johnson vs Maxwell fight and the Mayweather vs Paul fight have no odds, but here are the odds for the other two undercards:

Badou Jack -2500 vs. Dervin Colina +1200, light heavyweight

Jarrett Hurd -900 vs. Luis Arias +600, middleweight

Mayweather has been very vocal about how he has not been training for this fight. He says he's doing this to have fun and make money. Obviously Money is the more talented fighter, but can Paul

The second of the four fights will be Jarret Hurd vs. Luis Arias. The two will provide us with the only bout between professional boxers.

Hurd is a former world champion and has a record of 24-1.

Arias is 18-2-1 in his pro career, and still in search of his first shot at a World Championship belt .

The first one the four fights will feature former NFL player Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson and former MMA fighter star Brian Maxwell

Floyd has been questioned for why he choose to fight the YouTuber. Floyd is as good as Businessman as he is a boxer. "Money" is undefeated in the ring and at the bank.

Tonight's bout will bring in one of the highest purses in boxing history.

For those of you non YouTubers who aren't sure who Logan Paul is or why he's fighting one of the greatest boxers in the sports history, here's a rundown of his resume

There will be four fights tonight on the main undercard.

Chad Johnson vs. Brian Maxwell

Jarret Hurd vs. Luis Arias

Badou Jack vs. Dervin Colina

Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul

Hello everyone and welcome to Miami, Florida. We are just an hour away from coverage of one of the events of the year. Floyd Mayweather taking on Logan Paul in an eight round exhibition from Hard Rock Stadium.

It is finally here! After weeks, months, years of anticipation Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul will finally step in the ring for an eight round exhibition from Hard Rock Stadium. AS English will have will keep you covered on everything from the undercards to the main even from Miami, Florida.

The Paul's the new force in the boxing world

The Paul brothers launched themselves into the boxing world in 2018 when they fought fellow YouTubers KSI and Deji Olatunji. Logan and Jake have  revolutionized the sport drawing a new audience while enraging the historians and purists.

Logan’s first fight came on a pioneering night back in August of 2018. Both brothers were on the card, fighting against other social media stars. Jake took on British YouTuber Deji Olatunji, while Logan knuckled up against fellow infulencer KSI.

After six rounds, the fight was ruled a majority draw. Two judges scored a 57-57 draw, while the other sided with KSI 58-57.

Paul vs KSI rematch

The rematch between Paul and KSI took place a little over a year later. The Staples Center was the stage for Paul vs KSI II as 12,000 spectators packed the Los Angeles arena. The American came out stronger in his second fight and many believed he was wining up until the fourth round.

Paul was penalized two points after using one hand to pull the Brit’s head into an uppercut that knocked down KSI. Despite the two point deduction, there was still a split decision which went the way of the Brit.

Mayweather putting a perfect career on the line

Floyd Mayweather made his professional debut in 1996. Between then and his last pro bout, against Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor in August 2017, the 44-year-old won world titles across five different weight classes: super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight and light middleweight.

He is one of only five quintuple champions in men’s boxing - a group that features two men he has beaten, Oscar de la Hoya and Manny Pacquiao.
Of his 50 professional victories, Mayweather - whose nicknames have included ‘Pretty Boy’, ‘Money’ and ‘The Best Ever’ - managed 27 knockouts.
