The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Brooklyn Nets to force a Game 7 on Saturday. Khris Middleton led the way for the Bucks with a career playoff high 39 points.

The Milwaukee Bucks forced Game 7 after a wire-to-wire win over the Brooklyn Nets to tie the series at 3-3. Khris Middleton put the Bucks on his back, while the league’s top offensive side played lockdown defense in the 104-89 win.

Bucks defense shows up again in Milwaukee

Once again it was the  Bucks defense that saved the day and extended their season in a must win situation in Milwaukee. The leagues top scoring team in the regular season has resourced to lock down defense to win all three games at home and force a do-or-die game on Saturday.

Brooklyn came into tonight knowing they would be without their All-Star guard Kyrie Irving. James Harden’s return in Game 5 lightened the blow of the Irving injury.  Despite struggling from the field, he made an impact on the floor.

Middleton sets playoff career high

Harden was much more dangerous on the offensive end in Milwaukee, but Khris Middleton stole the spotlight with a career night. The Bucks sharp shooter took the game over in the second quarter scoring 17 points and taking Milwaukee to the halftime break up double digits.

Giannis Antetokounmpo got the Bucks off to a hot start, setting the tone and getting to the basket early and often. The two time MVP began the game 7 of 8 from the field as he seemed to get to the basket when ever he wanted.

The Nets made their run in the third quarter, and closed the gap to as little as five points right before the third quarter, but the Bucks countered with a 14-0 run to put the game on ice.

Giannis with fourth straight 30/10 performance

Middleton had a playoff career high 38 points and 10 rebounds going 11-16 from the field and hitting five of eight three pointers. Giannis was happy to share the stage, but still managed a fourth straight 30/10 night. The Greek Freak had 30 points and 17 rebounds.

Kevin Durant had yet another fantastic offensive outing with 32 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. James Harden got off to a solid start with 14 first half points, but fizzled out in the second half finishing the night with 16.

Game 7 will decide who is moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Bucks and the Nets travel back to Brooklyn in a win or go home game from the Barclays Center at 8:30 pm ET Saturday night.

Jeff Green was 7 for 7 from three point range in the fourth quarter, as the veteran scored 27 points and led the comeback charge for Brooklyn.

The Bucks were up 16 at the half in Game 5, but had no answer to KD and Jeff Green.

Harden played 45 and a half minutes in his return from a hamstring injury. Steve Nash wanted to keep his star guard from tightening up on the sidelines so The Beard almost played the entire game.

James Harden will play in Game 6. We will see how the hamstring holds up.

Giannis has been unstoppable in this series, and throughout the playoffs.

PJ Tucker has was huge in the Bucks two wins in Milwaukee, getting under the skin of Kevin Durant both defensively and on mentally.

Nets coach Steve Nash praised Durant after the Game 5 win calling his 49 point triple double night a ''Historic, historic performance,''

Durant after a historic night: ''I know the perception of me is that I can score the basketball well, but any team that I've played on, I've been asked to do pretty much everything from rebounding to defending to initiating to scoring. I might not do it all the time but I do a little bit of everything.''

These two teams were the top scoring offenses in the NBA during the regular season, but this is the playoffs, and points don't come easy in the playoffs.

The offense was finally on display last game after two defensive showdowns in Milwaukee. Does another lockdown defensive night await us tonight?

Kevin Durant had one of the most impressive playoff performances in the history of the league in Game 5. He scored 49 points, grabbed 17 rebounds dished 10 assists in one of the greatest nights in postseason history.

All eyes will be on James Harden, who returned from injury last game. He was held scoreless for two and a half quarters, and struggled to stay in front of his opponents on the defensive end. But his spirit, and KD's legendary night lifted the Nets to a 3-2 lead.

Win and the Nets are in the Conference Finals

Brooklyn is a game away from the Eastern Conference Finals after a 17 point comeback win in Game 5 at the Barclays Center Tuesday night. The series heads back to Wisconsin as the Milwaukee Bucks look to stay alive and force a Game 7.

The Nets have battled injury problems all year, and this series has been no different. James Harden suffered a hamstring injury in the first minute of Game 1. Then Kyrie Irving twisted his ankle in the second quarter of Game 4.

Injury problems complicating Brooklyns title run

Kyrie was sidelined for the fifth game from Brooklyn, but Harden came back from his hamstring strain just in time. While The Beard didn’t have a fantastic game offensively his presence was noted and injected a sense of belief for the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

Kevin Durant had a legendary performance, going for 49 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists and played every one of the 48 minutes. KD became the first in playoff history to go for 45/15/10.

Legendary Durant led Nets to Game 5 win

Durant scored had 20 in the fourth quarter, but it was Jeff Green who stole the spotlight in the first three quarters going 7 for 7 from downtown in route to 27 points.

The home team has won every game in this series, and the Bucks will have to come through with another home win on Thursday to keep the series alive.

Harden is expected to play in Game 6 while Irving remains a doubt.
