Carlos Vela scores his first goal of the 2021 MLS season

Carlos Vela is officially back! The Los Angeles FC hosted FC Dallas for week 9 of the 2021 Major League Soccer season at the Banc of California stadium. Carlos Vela made his fifth start of the campaign and within the first four minutes, he had opened the scoring.

One goal and one assist for Carlos Vela

It took six games for the captain of LAFC to score his first goal of the 2021 MLS season after he received a through ball from Eduard Atuesta inside the box. Vela didn't stop there - in the 69th minute he supplied a low cross for Latif Blessing, who found the back of the net to make it 2-0.

I feel much better from the injury and I am starting to feel like I am back. This is the Carlos Vela that the team expects and we have to keep working hard. We are not in a good position on the table and we still need to improve,” said Vela after the game.

Carlos Vela gave his third assist of the season in six league appearances. He was substituted in the 76th minute of the game. LAFC has a quick turn-around because they have a road game against Sporting KC on 26 June for week nine of the MLS season.
