Italy vs Austria: Euro 2020 preview

Italy will be out to earn a record 12th straight win when they take on Austria at Wembley in the second of the Euro 2020 last-16 ties on Saturday.

The Azzurri, who have been one of the stand-out teams of the tournament so far, equalled their longest ever winning run with a 1-0 victory over Wales on Sunday, Matteo Pessina’s first-half strike ensuring Roberto Mancini’s men topped Group A.

The Italians will also be looking to make it 12 successive clean sheets.

They face an Austria side who qualified in second place in Group C thanks to a 1-0 matchday-three victory over Ukraine, Christoph Baumgartner getting the goal.

The Austrians haven’t beaten Italy since a 2-1 friendly win in Naples in December 1960.

Italy reached the last 16 with a 100% group-stage record.
