How many Copa America and World Cup finals has Neymar Jr played in?
Brazil superstar Neymar is looking forward to facing Lionel Messi's Argentina in the Copa America final on Saturday after the defending champions edged Peru.
Brazil will meet Argentina at the iconic Maracana in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night for the 2021 Copa America final and Neymar is eyeing a blockbuster showdown with La Albiceleste.
South American rivals Brazil and Argentina have not met in a Copa final since 2007, when the Seleçâo won 3-0.
"I want Argentina, I'm rooting for Argentina," Neymar – a former Barcelona team-mate of Messi – said post-match in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the Colombia-Argentina semi-final.
"I have friends there, then in the final it will be Brazil [laughs]."
Neymar was impressive in the semi-final win against Peru at the Estadio Nilton Santos stadium, attempting a team-high four shots to go with two key passes and the decisive assist for Paqueta's match winning goal.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward was also fouled three times. No player has been fouled more often than Neymar (25) during this year's CONMEBOL tournament.
Neymar's final appearances
Despite having won a slew of silverware with FC Barcelona and current club Paris-Saint Germain, the Brazilian striker has never featured for the national side at a Copa America or World Cup final. Neymar was injured for Brazil's 2019 triumph and his major achievements in the famous yellow shirt have been the 2016 Rio gold medal at the Olympics coupled with a 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup win on home soil.
