MLS announces All-Stars roster to face Liga MX stars

The Major League Soccer All-Stars face their Liga MX counterparts at the Banc of California Stadium on 25 August.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández and Carlos Vela will lead the 2021 MLS All-Stars roster that will play against the Liga MX stars. The game is scheduled to be played at the Banc of California Stadium on 25 August.

MLS 28-player roster announced on Wednesday

Goalkeepers: Pedro Gallese (Orlando City) and Matt Turner (New England Revolution).

Defenders: Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy), Yeimar Gómez (Seattle Sounders), Jesús Murillo (LAFC), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United), Nouhou (Seattle Sounders), Alex Roldan (Seattle Sounders), James Sands (NYCFC), Kai Wagner (Philadelphia Union) and Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC).

Midfielders: Eduard Atuesta (LAFC), Tajon Buchanan (New England Revolution), Carles Gil (New England Revolution), Damir Kreilach (Real Salt Lake), Joao Paulo (Seattle Sounders), Emanuel Reynoso (Minnesota), Cristian Roldán (Seattle Sounders) and Lucas Zelarayan (Columbus Crew).

Strikers: Gustavo Boou (New England Revolution), Cade Cowell (Earthquakes), Javier Hernández (LA Galaxy), Nani (Orlando City), Ricardo Pepi (FC Dallas), Diego Rossi (LAFC), Raúl Ruidiaz (Seattle Sounders), Daniel Salloi (Sporting KC) and Carlos Vela (LAFC).

How players were selected

The final roster of the 2021 MLS All-Star game includes 28 players from 15 of 27 different clubs in the league and 13 players voted in by fans, media and other players. The other 13 were selected by All-Star boss Bob Bradley from LAFC and two players were selected by the league’s commissioner Don Garber.
