Messi leaving Barcelona: the number 10's best 10 goals

FC Barcelona have announced that Leo Messi will be leaving the club this summer after the player and the board failed to agree terms on a new deal for the Argentina captain, bringing the curtain down on one of the most successful player-club partnerships of the modern era.

Messi to leave Barcelona

Messi has been a free agent after his contract expired at the end June and although it was widely expected he would put pen to paper on a new deal to see out his career at Camp Nou, Barcelona announced on Thursday that he would be leaving the club after talks broke down.

Messi spent 17 seasons at Barcelona, making a total of 778 appearances and scoring 672 goals for the club. In a recent survey Barcelona fans selected their favourite 10 from the Argentinean's glittering Camp Nou career.
