Manchester United vs Newcastle United not available in England
Cristiano Ronaldo's debut for Manchester United is one of the biggest events in world football this weekend, and it won't be televised in the UK. In England it is forbidden to televise live matches on Saturday afternoons between 2:45pm and 5:15pm UK time.
The two-and-a-half-hour television blackout is a UEFA-sponsored rule designed to protect the bulk of the British football matchday, which always starts at 3pm, and is intended to encourage fans to stay in stadiums across the UK during that time. The theory behind its introduction is that regular fans will not change their minds if there is a Premier League match on TV, but "casual fans" might, with the economic consequences that would have on the grassroots of English football. With most weekend fixtures taking place at 3pm, the blackout encourages viewers not to turn their backs on the lowest-ranked clubs in the English football pyramid.

Solskjaer on Ronaldo: "Everyone is very happy to have him back"
"He had a good pre-season with Juventus, he's played for his national team and has had a good week with us here," Solskjaer said at Friday's pre-match news conference.
"He will definitely be on the pitch at some point, that's for sure.
"Everyone is very happy to have him back. He can speak for himself but he seems happy to be back as well.
"The mood has been good and we're looking forward to Saturday.
"The way he has come in and conducted himself... we know what he's achieved in his career but he's coming here to achieve more.
"He's lived the life of a top professional ever since he came here. You can't go into training and give 95 per cent and not be focused, that's what he demands from everyone."
