Chivas in search of a young manager not Matías Almeyda
The sporting director of the team from Guadalajara, Ricardo Peláez, ended the rumors of the possible return of the Argentine manager, Matías Almeyda
This past weekend the bosses from Chivas decided to part ways with Victor Manuel Vucetich after Chivas defeated Pachuca 1-0. This is a very important week for the team from Guadalajara because they will go on the road to play against América in the first ‘Super Clásico Nacional’ of the 2021 Apertura tournament.
Matías Almeyda is not an option
Almeyda is considered to be one of the most successful managers in the history of the franchise, but for the bosses he is not an option to take over the team. Marcelo Michel Leaño will be the interim coach until the bosses find the replacement of Vucetich and he is preparing the game against América scheduled for 25 September.
Chivas in search of a younger coach with new ideas
“First we chose Tena, then Vucetich, two managers that have experience and won championships, but it didn’t work out. Now we are looking for a younger coach with new ideas and our goal is for him to promote the young talent from our youth teams,” explained the sporting director of the team from Guadalajara, Ricardo Peláez.
“Marcelo Michel Leaño will be the interim coach until we find the right manager, but our goals are the same: win the league title and fight to be at the top of the table. Also I want to clarify that Matías Almeyda is not an option and we are working on a list of candidates that hopefully we can come to a decision in the next few weeks,” he added.
