América: Solari remain undefeated when facing top teams in Liga MX
The Argentine manager arrived at the last tournament of the Liga MX and has not lost against the top three teams in Liga MX with Club América.
Santiago Solari has proved that he is the right man for the job coaching Club América. The Argentine manager led the ‘Eagles’ to the playoffs in his first tournament in charge after a second place finish in the regular season, just three points behind first place Cruz Azul.
Chivas the next challenge for Solari
América lost to Pachuca in the Quarter finals, but the bosses were very happy with his work in his debut campaign. This tournament the ‘Eagles’ are the team to beat and after nine games they are in first place with 20 points and a record of 6W-2D-1L.
The ‘Eagles’ lost their eight game undefeated streak last weekend to Toluca and now they want to bounce back with a win this Saturday at home in Mexico’s biggest soccer rivalry. The team from the capital will host Chivas for matchday 10 at the Azteca stadium in the first ‘Super Clásico’ of the campaign.
Santiago Solari is confident his team can secure the three points, because he is undefeated when facing the top three teams in Mexican soccer. Last season his team tied against Cruz Azul, but then defeated Chivas and Pumas. Also the first time the Argentine manager faced Chivas, his team won 3-0 on the road.
