Tension mounts over Chelsea defender Antonio Rüdiger
The German centre-back is out of contract in 2022 and has rejected a renewal offer from Chelsea. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all reportedly interested.
Antonio Rüdiger's contract with Chelsea expires on 30 June 2022 and talks over a contract renewal with the Premier League side are not going well.
According to the Daily Mail, the defender has rejected a new offer of approximately €8 million per year, a far cry from the close to €25 million he is demanding, which would be €3 million more than Romelu Lukaku's deal.
La Liga giants interested in Rüdiger
Rüdiger has several suitors knocking on his door. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all interested in the 28-year-old, who would join on a free. Los Blancos are hoping to strengthen their backline after the departures of Sergio Ramos and Varane over the summer.
Madrid have conceded 10 goals in La Liga in 2021/22 - the most conceded is 13. Barcelona currently have five centre-backs in their squad - Piqué, Eric García, Araújo, Lenglet and Umtiti - but would still welcome the arrival of the German international.
Former Chelsea defender Robert Huth told BonusCode Bets that Chelsea should give the German "what he is asking for", as replacing him "would cost the club €60 million".
