Steve Bruce leaves Newcastle after Saudi Arabia takeover

The parting of Steve Bruce from Newcastle was expected after the news of the Saudi Arabian takeover of Newcastle. It is reportedly a mutual exit.

Update:

Shortly after the Premier League announced the Saudi Arabian takeover of Newcastle United, manager Steve Bruce has parted ways with the club. The new owners have decided to look for a new manager immediately.

Bruce was the successor to Rafael Benítez and kept Newcastle in the Premier League for the past two seasons. However, he wasn't the most popular, with the hostility growing in recent weeks. He recognized that he would probably be sacked soon once the new owners moved into St. James Park.

There are a few possible contenders to take over for Bruce, including former Shakhtar Donetsk and Roma coach Paulo Fonseca. Another possibility is Lucien Favre, former Nice and Borussia Dortmund manager.
