Sergiño Dest misses clear goal again for Barcelona

The USMNT player failed to get on the scoresheet in Barcelona’s 1-0 road defeat against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.

Sergiño Dest has been playing a more offensive role with Barcelona, but he has yet to find the back of the net despite having clear chances to do so. The US international missed from close range after a great cross from Memphis Depay in Barcelona’s 1-0 road defeat against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.

Back-to-back misses for Dest

This is the second time that the the American winger has failed to find the back of the net and help his team obtain some points in LaLiga. Dest failed to score from close range in the 25th minute of Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid over the weekend.

Dest’s shot went over from a few yards out and it could have given Barcelona the lead and probably changed the course of the match.

 The USMNT player then missed a clear shot on goal on Wednesday in back-to-back games, again playing in a more offensive role against Rayo.

The head coach of FC Barcelona Ronald Koeman talked about the missed opportunity from Dest in ‘El Clásico’ but he keeps opting to trust the USMNT player. Barça are having a complicated start to the campaign and currently sit in ninth place with 15 points from 10 matches.
