Antonio Conte is set to become Tottenham Hotspur's next manager. Spurs could make the appointment official on Tuesday, with the Italian coach expected to sign a deal until June 2023.

A verbal agreement is in place, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Conte was the leading contender for the vacancy after the Premier League club sacked Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday. Spurs were booed off after their 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United on Saturday and have lost three of their last four across all competitions.

Spurs hold talks with Conte

Tottenham held negotiations with Conte’s representatives on Monday. Conte himself arrived in London from Italy on Monday morning. He was also a target for Tottenham in the summer only for talks to break down.

Italian success

The 52-year-old, who will be a serious coup for the North London club, left Inter Milan in the summer after leading them to the 2020/21 Serie A title. The Italian possesses a strong CV, having already won the Premier League with Chelsea and Serie A with Juventus.

The Telegraph report that Conte could take Tottenham training on Tuesday.
