NFL Coaches and staff are frustrated with the Packers

In the wake of the star QB testing positive for covid-19, there is growing dissatisfaction about the Packers role in the scenario

The NFL is not happy with the Green Bay Packers

There is a growing number of NFL coaches and front-office executives who have raised concerns about the idea that their respective teams, were seemingly obligated to follow a different set of rules relating to covid-19 protocols than those of the Green Bay Packers. Previously the NFL had mandated that teams with unvaccinated players would be required to wear masks along the sidelines during preseason games. The Packers' star quarterback Aaron Rodgers did not.

This is in direct contrast to the NFL's own words on covid-19 protocols, as seen in a memo received by a one team's executive, "...Any such individual with bench area access who is not fully vaccinated except for active players shall be required to wear masks at all times. Unvaccinated inactive players must also wear masks."

According to ESPN one executive was very clear about his thoughts saying, "That's B.S. ... What's going on in Green Bay, that's not what teams were told by the NFL. Our players wore masks all the time. We made our guys that weren't playing wear masks."

The Packers are now facing an NFL investigation

The NFL is curently investigating how covid-19 protocols were implemented at the Packers facility and during games. The league will be reviewing video footage from inside the team's training facility in an effort to see whether or not masks were being worn and protocols were being followed. According to a league spokesman the NFL is also inquiring about a Halloween party that multiple Packers players attended, including Rodgers. The players were all seen via social media posts and were in fact not wearing masks at the time. The NFL has rules that limit the amount of players who can be together outside of the team's training facility. It is believed that the players in question ran afoul of said rule. The Packers and Rodgers himself are now set to face fines but there has been no talk of suspensions as yet.

The Aaron Rodgers situation

Rodgers, who is unvaccinated discovered on Wednesday gone that he had contracted covid-19. As a result he will not be available for Sunday's game when the Packers are on the road to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Recently on Friday, during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers stated that his concerns about the vaccine were based on two things primarily, an allergy to mRNA vaccines which prevents him from receiving two of the three approved COVID-19 vaccines and reservations about adverse reactions to the remaining third vaccine. Interestingly the vaccine in question was suspended for short time earlier in the year.

The quarterback told reporters in August that he was "immunized." Rodgers then went on to petition the NFL, the NFL Players Association and a jointly approved infectious disease expert to be considered vaccinated having subjected himself to a treatment designed to raise his immunity thereby exempting him from the protocols which pertain to unvaccinated players. The petition was denied.
